Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch

Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch with 2 Gigabit SFP Combo Ports

The Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch connects and powers devices in small business networks. It provides eight Gigabit ports with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), alongside two combo uplinks. This makes it useful for offices that need phones, wireless access points, and computers on one managed network. Additionally, its 120W power budget helps reduce the need for separate power adapters at compatible endpoints.

Product Overview

This business network switch gives administrators control over how devices share network resources. Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) separate traffic into logical groups. For example, staff and guest services can use different network segments.

Meanwhile, the fanless design avoids cooling-fan noise near desks. The two uplinks offer copper or Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) connections. Therefore, installers can select a connection type that suits the network layout and compatible equipment.

Key Features

• Combined power and data: PoE+ supplies compatible endpoints through their Ethernet cables, simplifying device placement and cable planning.
• Traffic control: Quality of Service (QoS) lets administrators prioritise selected traffic, helping voice services during busy periods.
• Flexible administration: Browser-based management and a Command-Line Interface (CLI) provide different ways to configure and maintain the switch.
• Network segmentation: VLAN support helps organise departments, guest access, and device groups within the same physical network.
• Quiet operation: Fanless cooling suits work areas where equipment noise would be distracting.

Common Applications

The Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch suits small offices, retail sites, and branch networks. For instance, an installation can combine powered phones with wireless access points. Before deployment, add up endpoint power needs and identify which devices require wired connections. This helps match the available ports and power budget to the site.

Why Choose This Product?

Choose the Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch for managed connectivity and centralised endpoint power in a compact installation. Furthermore, its copper/fibre uplink choices support practical network planning. It provides a useful foundation when a small site needs control over both connections and traffic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the combo uplinks provide 10Gbps connections?

The uplinks operate at Gigabit speed. This model has SFP combo ports rather than 10Gbps SFP+ ports.

Does each powered port receive a dedicated 120W supply?

The switch shares its 120W PoE budget across the eight powered ports. Therefore, plan for the combined requirements of connected devices.

Does the Cisco CBS350-8FP-2G Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch support hardware stacking?

Cisco does not include this model in the datasheet’s hardware-stacking list. Plan its management and uplink connections accordingly.
